Achada de Santo Antão Viewpoint

The west coast of the island of Madeira is rich in oceanic landscapes of remarkable beauty. The Achada de Santo Antão Viewpoint offers a privileged viewpoint of one of these grand scenarios where Nature expresses itself with great generosity.

Also known as the 'Farol Verde Viewpoint', the Achada de Santo Antão Viewpoint benefits from an elevated position that provides a wide view over the surrounding area. The environment is unavoidably marked by the irregular coastline, which separates the blue of the Atlantic from the green mantle of the hillsides.

This viewpoint can be found at the top of the Achada de Santo Antão cliff. It is part of the parish of Arco da Calheta, one of the first places on the island to undergo a settlement and agricultural process after the discovery of this insular territory.

From the Achada de Santo Antão Viewpoint one can access a panoramic view over the town of Arco da Calheta. It is also possible to see Madalena do Mar, a parish in the municipality of Ponta do Sol, known for its fishermen's quarter. For the more adventurous, this spot is a great starting point for paragliding.
