Located by the cemetery in the parish of São Roque do Faial, the Lombo dos Palheiros viewpoint offers visitors a panoramic view over the north coast of the island of Madeira, with its imposing mountains in the foreground.
This viewpoint enjoys one of the most privileged panoramic views of the municipality of Santana, marked by the green tones that paint the surrounding slopes. The scenery that visitors can access here also allows them to take a glimpse at points of interest such as the centre of the parish of São Roque do Faial or the imposing Penha d'Águia, a geological formation some 600 metres high, which serves as a landmark dividing the municipality of Santana from that of Machico.
The scenery is also embellished by the houses that offer tones of white and orange to the hills that rise up around the Lombo dos Palheiros viewpoint.
