Overflying the valley
The Botanical Garden Cable Car links Largo das Babosas to the Botanical Garden.
It promises a dream journey, tearing through nature over the valley of the Ribeira de João Gomes, a place of exotic and rare natural beauty. The panoramic view extends to the beautiful city of Funchal and a stunning landscape, where the green merges with the blue of the sea.
It has a total of twelve cabins with a seating capacity of 6 each. It offers an 18-minute panoramic view over the city of Funchal, on a 1,600-metre route, at a maximum speed of 15 km/h.
The Cable Car operates every day, starting at 9:30 a.m. and with the last boarding at 5:20 p.m.
You can buy tickets for the cable car at any of the stations, either above the Botanical Garden or at Largo das Babosas. It is possible to buy them combined with the visit to the Garden and with the Funchal Cable Car. There is a terrace and a souvenir shop at each of the stations, where you can relax before boarding and take away a souvenir of this experience.
