Distance: 4,6 Km (+ 4,6 Km return) Degree of dificulty: ModerateBoth trails begin on the regional road (E.R. 110) and go down to the Rabaçal government house. The trails diverge along two parallel ‘levadas’ located on different levels.

PR 6.2 Levada do Alecrim (Rabaçal - Lagoa da "Dona Beja")
Distance: 1,8m (+ 1,8km return) Degree of dificulty: EasyThe route begins near the regional road (ER105), at the Rabaçal area, and goes along the Levada do Alecrim or Levada Paul I, located 1300 meters high, until the spring of the levada, at the Ribeira do Lajeado (Lajeado Creek).

PR 6.3 Vereda da Lagoa do Vento (Rabaçal – Lagoa do Vento)
Distance: 1,8m (+ 1,8km return) Degree of dificulty: EasyBeginning about 200 meters above Rabaçal´s shelter, the access path to the Lagoa da Água do Vento also designated as Lagoa do Vento, appears to your left, near the path connecting to the regional road (ER105).

Distance: 10,3 Km Degree of dificulty: ModerateAt the north-western end of the island, the Levada do Moinho once served several watermills, and was a ‘private’ levada for the use of those who paid to have it constructed.

PR8 - Vereda da Ponta de São Lourenço
Distance: 3 Km (+ 3 Km return) Degree of dificulty: Moderate
Visiting some of the finest cliff scenery on Madeira, this walk explores the long thin peninsula at the eastern end of the island. The paths are good, but undulating - whether you get close to the edges is up to you. -
PR9 - Levada do Caldeirão Verde
Distance: 8,7 Km (+ 8,7 Km return) Degree of dificulty: ModerateBeginning in the Queimadas Forestry Park, this walk is ‘out-and-back’, and crosses some spectacularly steep slopes, but is one of the finest ways of penetrating the deep valley of the São Jorge brook on foot; you’ll need a torch on this walk, which passes through a tunnel.

PR10 - Levada do Furado
Distance: 11 Km Degree of dificulty: Moderate
This levada, which begins in Ribeiro Frio, is one of the first acquired by the State to irrigate the farmlands of Porto da Cruz. The walk ends with a descent to the village of Portela. -
PR11 - Vereda dos Balcões
Distance: 1,5 Km (+ 1,5 Km return) Degree of dificulty: Easy
Starting at Ribeiro Frio, this short walk follows the levada of Serra do Faial, and gives access to the Balcões viewpoint with superb views over the valley of the Ribeira da Metade.
