The island of Madeira, because of its privileged geographical position and mountainous relief, have a surprisingly mild climate.Very mild average temperatures, 25ºC in the summer and 17ºC in the winter, and a moderate level of humidity, confer upon this island exceptional subtropical features.
The seawater temperature is also very mild, because of the influence of the warm Gulf current, presenting averages of 22ºC in the summer and 18º in the winter.

The Vila Guida Viewpoint Garden, as the name implies, functions as a garden and a viewpoint with a pleasant view over the bay of Funchal.

Located at Rua Conde Carvalhal, the Vila Guida Viewpoint Garden was built in 1938. This space with a total area of 2,000 m2, is divided into two levels.
The upper Level functions as a viewpoint from which visitors can see the magnificent bay of Funchal. In the landscaped area there are several large trees, which are of great scenic interest.
