The island of Madeira, because of its privileged geographical position and mountainous relief, have a surprisingly mild climate.Very mild average temperatures, 25ºC in the summer and 17ºC in the winter, and a moderate level of humidity, confer upon this island exceptional subtropical features.
The seawater temperature is also very mild, because of the influence of the warm Gulf current, presenting averages of 22ºC in the summer and 18º in the winter.

Location

A building constructed in a square with a height of circa 6 m, with the objective of aiding and guiding fishermen and vessels.

The Ribeira Brava Lighthouse is a beacon installed on top of a promontory, located on the right hand side of the village and to the west of the port. Access is via a modern metal spiral staircase.
The light is mounted inside a 6 metre tall square construction, in order to assist and guide fishermen and vessels.
