The island of Madeira, because of its privileged geographical position and mountainous relief, have a surprisingly mild climate.Very mild average temperatures, 25ºC in the summer and 17ºC in the winter, and a moderate level of humidity, confer upon this island exceptional subtropical features.
The seawater temperature is also very mild, because of the influence of the warm Gulf current, presenting averages of 22ºC in the summer and 18º in the winter.
The Forest and Nature Conservation Institute, IP-RAM (IFCN, IP-RAM) informs that all the recommended walking paths in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, as well as the respective support infrastructures, from December 4th onwards, will be closed due to the weather conditions that will affect the Region.
For the second year in a row and for the fourth time since first participating, Madeira Islands has been chosen by the World Travel Awards as Europe’s Leading Island Destination 2017, in what are considered the “Tourism Oscars”.
The museum has more than two thousand pieces originating from all over the world that have been collected by a Madeiran enthusiast over the past 50 years, with the oldest piece dating from the 18th century.
