A toast to Madeira

The Wine Festival is a highly symbolic cultural and ethnographic event. Held during the grape harvest season, at the end of summer, it celebrates the internationally acclaimed nectar produced in this archipelago.

from August 25th to September 15th, 2023

The event that celebrates one of Madeira's ex-libris takes place both in the streets of Funchal and in vineyards and wine cellars in rural areas. Check the programme to find out where you can celebrate this 400-year-old elixir.

The Madeira Wine Lounge, in Praça do Povo, is a prime location for visitors to enjoy wine and gastronomy tastings, to the sound of regional musical groups of different genres.

Concerts in the Vineyards

A series of musical concerts taking place in different places in the region, in a winery and sunset environments, to be held after the peak of heat, when the aromas intensify. Includes live musical performances and tasting fortified wines produced on site.

Estreito’s Wine Harvest Festival

The Wine Harvest Festival gathers every year, in the first half of September, thousands of locals and tourists in the village of Estreito. A fundamental poster for promoting the Madeira destination, this festival recreates the hard but joyful work of the wine harvest, an essential stage in preparing the way for the population to enjoy the most famous product of the island, its wine.
