The island of Madeira, because of its privileged geographical position and mountainous relief, have a surprisingly mild climate.Very mild average temperatures, 25ºC in the summer and 17ºC in the winter, and a moderate level of humidity, confer upon this island exceptional subtropical features.
The seawater temperature is also very mild, because of the influence of the warm Gulf current, presenting averages of 22ºC in the summer and 18º in the winter.

The Quinta do Lorde Yacht Club was created in the year 2000 by a group of regional sailing enthusiasts.

Its privileged location makes Quinta do Lorde the ideal place to host and organise nautical sports events, as it has good access to the sea, good logistics and excellent facilities.
The Quinta do Lorde Yacht Club is a reference in the organisation of Match Racing contests.
