The island of Madeira, because of its privileged geographical position and mountainous relief, have a surprisingly mild climate.Very mild average temperatures, 25ºC in the summer and 17ºC in the winter, and a moderate level of humidity, confer upon this island exceptional subtropical features.
The seawater temperature is also very mild, because of the influence of the warm Gulf current, presenting averages of 22ºC in the summer and 18º in the winter.

Integrated in the emblematic Quinta Vigia, the Nossa Senhora das Angústias (Our Lady of Anguish) Chapel brings together a collection of objects of artistic interest, namely Baroque paintings, sculptures and bas-reliefs.

This Chapel is located on Avenida do Infante and is an integral part of the characteristic Quinta Vigia and brings together a collection of objects of artistic interest, namely Baroque paintings, sculptures, bas-reliefs with particular emphasis on the tile panels depicting the "Fables of la Fontaine”, from the 19th century.
