The island of Madeira, because of its privileged geographical position and mountainous relief, have a surprisingly mild climate.Very mild average temperatures, 25ºC in the summer and 17ºC in the winter, and a moderate level of humidity, confer upon this island exceptional subtropical features.
The seawater temperature is also very mild, because of the influence of the warm Gulf current, presenting averages of 22ºC in the summer and 18º in the winter.

As well as offering individual and group classes, the Funchal Tennis Club has a courts available that can be hired for this sports practice.

The Funchal Tennis Club is close to the Barreiros football stadium and was founded on the 29th January, 1982.
This club offers private and group lessons; it also takes on the organisation of inter-club and federation tournaments at different levels.
