The island of Madeira, because of its privileged geographical position and mountainous relief, have a surprisingly mild climate.Very mild average temperatures, 25ºC in the summer and 17ºC in the winter, and a moderate level of humidity, confer upon this island exceptional subtropical features.
The seawater temperature is also very mild, because of the influence of the warm Gulf current, presenting averages of 22ºC in the summer and 18º in the winter.

The Eira da Achada Viewpoint, equipped with various support facilities, offers a stunning view over the northern coast of Madeira Island.

The Eira da Achada Viewpoint is located at the top of Ribeira da Janela parish and was opened in 2009. The development of this viewpoint made Eira da Achada more attractive not only for visitors, but also for the residents.
This viewpoint is equipped with sanitary facilities, children's playground, picnic areas and car park.
From this point visitors can enjoy the breathtaking views of the entire northern coast of Madeira Island.
